FAQs

Does all-inclusive pricing really mean all-inclusive?

Yes, all the work we do for you is included in a single fixed fee. We don’t charge for travel expenses, on-site attendance fees or additional out-of-hours cover. Transparency is important to us and the price you see when you sign up is the price you pay, whatever happens.

What happens if my database has an issue at 3am?

If your systems experience a problem in the middle of the night, we guarantee you’ll be able to contact a member of our technical support team, 365 days a year. We operate a formal round-the-clock rota and adhere to strict SLAs to fulfil our promise of high-quality 24/7 service. We ensure your business-critical databases are available day and night to keep pace with today’s always-on global market.

Why do you offer a fixed price service?

We believe it’s in everyone’s best interests to fix prices at the outset and use increased efficiency to drive down costs. If one of your systems goes offline in the middle of the night, our first priority is to get it up and running quickly. We can’t do this if we need to wait for purchase orders to authorise additional spend. Some of our competitors exploit out-of-hours services as a way to generate extra revenue. We think differently. We believe everyone benefits if we prevent breakdowns from arising in the first place. That way our customers evade expensive downtime and we spend less time fixing avoidable problems.

What level of DBA will look after my systems?

We only employ senior UK-based DBAs with proven real-world experience. Each holds advanced technical qualifications and an extensive track record in database support across a diverse breadth of industries. Our remote working model allows us to take advantage of the best IT talent from across the UK. All our DBAs are security cleared, and participate in our CPD programme.

The number of databases requiring support may change - can you adapt?

Yes, we believe that IT support should be flexible enough to respond to changing needs. As part of our service, we’ll review your support schedule every three months, and adjust as necessary. Extra databases can be added or removed from the schedule at any time, so your plan is fully scalable. Our policy of incremental-increase lets you simply pay a set percentage increase per new database, rather than multiplying the core contract price.

Can you assist with my Disaster Recovery testing?

Yes, our DBAs will attend on-site to help with your Disaster Recovery testing, and at no additional charge. We believe a fully tested plan offers reassurance to us just as much as it does to your business, so the cost of this service is covered within your fixed fee.

I already have a DBA, can you work alongside him?

Yes, our DBAs are used to working closely with inhouse IT personnel. As soon as our DBA is deployed, your DBA can get back to focusing on more strategic business projects, leaving all the day-to-day tasks to us. Also, our DBA can provide additional temporary cover if your DBA falls sick or goes on holiday.

How does your DBA fit with my business?

Our approach is completely collaborative. WellData DBAs act as an extension to your in-house IT team. Your business is allocated two named experts who work hand-in-hand with your existing staff.

Our systems are based on different database technologies, can you cover them all?

Yes, we offer services across an extensive list of database technologies, supported by the largest team of outsourced DBAs in the UK. From older legacy versions right up to the latest cutting-edge technologies, we provide full coverage of all database systems.

Which industry sectors do you support?

Our technical teams provide cover right across the private, public and third sectors. All kinds of organisations choose to outsource to us, from local councils, banks, and estate agents, to manufacturers, retailers and universities. Our expertise helps organisations in almost any sector or industry, and our client base is expanding every week.
