IT Support assistant


WellData is expanding and seeking a motivated and talented IT Support Assistant with a proven interest in IT to join one of the UK’s largest teams of Database Administrators.

WellData, established in 1999, is a leading IT outsourcing partner, supporting all types of organisations in the UK including many high-profile customers in the private and public sector.

Based in our offices in Kingston upon Thames, you’ll play a key part in managing and supporting WellData’s clients.

This brand new role will need an enthusiastic individual; willing to learn and be mentored by senior team members. You will be encouraged to learn new IT skills and be trained to find solutions to problems. The company prides itself on fostering talent and being the best in the field. WellData seeks to invest heavily in training and staff development.

You will be working across various customers and performing a variety of tasks. The job, by its very nature, is incredibly diverse and will give you exposure to a variety of environments and technologies; from on-premise to cloud-based platforms (including Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud Platform…), a range of database technologies (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB…) as well as infrastructure and application support. The future also offers the opportunity for software development, design, development and implementation of business intelligence systems and many other IT related areas.

You will work in a team of people who are passionate about providing excellent support to our clients. Continuous training will be provided via courses, investigative training, access to subject matter experts, Certification Programs and the Pluralsight technology learning platform.

Essential Skills:

  • 1-2 Years’ experience in an IT support environment
  • The ability to identify and solve problems quickly
  • Excellent communications skills; fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Use of Microsoft Windows and Office (Access, Word and Excel)
  • Self-motivated
  • An eagerness to learn and progress
  • Good organisational skills
  • Proven interest in IT

Desirable skills:

  • 1 years experience in an IT support environment
  • Experience supporting IT Infrastructures
  • Understanding of IT monitoring
  • Experience in a client-facing role
